Patricia J. Harned, PhD
President of the Ethics Resource Center

Dr. Patricia Harned is President of the Ethics Resource Center (ERC), a nonprofit organization dedicated to the development, implementation and assessment of ethics programs.

Originally joining the ERC in 1999 as the Director of Character Development, Dr. Harned has applied her extensive background in education, moral development and research to the development and evaluation of ethics initiatives across business and educational sectors. Dr. Harned has provided leadership to projects with the Defense Industry Initiative, the Regulatory Affairs Professional Society, the Office of Government Ethics in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and the DC Public Schools. Dr. Harned has also supported meta-analyses of organizational efforts through the National Business Ethics Survey, and benchmarking of organizations for measurement of program effectiveness through the ERC Ethics Index(tm).

Dr. Harned received her Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Pittsburgh, and has authored several works, including When Ethics Calls the HR Helpline, Creating a Workable Company Code, and Common Sense & Everyday Ethics.

Stephen D. Potts
Chairman, ERC Board of Directors

Stephen Potts has more than four decades of experience in the legal and ethics fields. A former practicing attorney, Mr. Potts was appointed Director of the US Office of Government Ethics by both President Bush and Clinton. He served two-five year terms, beginning in 1990. During Mr. Pott's tenure at OGE, the agency began providing ethics training for all federal government employees. He now serves at the Chairman of the ERC Board of Directors.

Mr. Potts is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Vanderbilt University and received his L.L.B. from Vanderbilt Law School, where he was an editor of the law review.
