Conduct a Full ERC Survey

As an alternative to licensing the seven core questions, ECOA members can participate in the benchmarking initiative by implementing a full survey. A full survey allows your organization to compare itself to ECOA peers, while providing a more in-depth assessment of your ethics and compliance program and ethical culture. The survey uses the following sets of indicators:

  • Formal Program Elements – As identified by the U.S. Sentencing Commission’s Federal Sentencing Guidelines for Organizations;
  • Risk – Exposure to situations that invite violation of an organization’s standards or the law;
  • Ethical Culture – Indicators of the extent to which members of the organization embody and conduct business according to the standards of the organization, and the nature of pressure to commit misconduct; and,
  • Program Outcomes – Measures of the extent to which a program is achieving its intended objectives and is promoting ethical conduct overall.

To conduct a full survey, your organization must enter into an independent agreement with ERC. The average life cycle of a survey project is approximately 4 months, from planning until delivery of the survey report.
