- March 11, 2002DocumentClaire overhears an argument between Curtis and Maya. Curtis hurts Maya, but when Claire confronts Maya, she claims Claire doesn't understand love. Claire is not convinced and decides to tell Maya's parents.

- February 18, 2002DocumentTrey makes fun of Evan for getting a good grade. Evan has been trying harder because Miss Coolican inspired him. Evan remembers something his mom told him, and challenges Trey to do better in school, too.
- February 11, 2002DocumentPaul uses women for sex and likes to talk about it with the team. He pries into Darrell's and Denise's relationship. Darrell wants to evade the question, but realizes that he must make a stronger statement. So he asks Paul to treat women as if they were his sister, daughter, or mother.
- February 4, 2002DocumentThe narrator sees his old childhood playground in need of repair. He doesn't know what to do, but then remembers the maxim. So he takes initiative himself to start making it better.
- January 28, 2002DocumentCasey is struggling in French and wants to give up. Ms. Espie asks her to tutor Mark, who is doing poorly in Math. Mark expresses the same feelings for Math that Casey has for French. Casey realizes that he should not give up.
- January 21, 2002DocumentJohnny picks on Chris a lot. The narrator overhears Johnny telling Chris the wrong time for the team bus, but doesn't think it's his responsibility to say anything. In Mr. Potts' s class the next day, the narrator learns about the Civil Rights Movement and realizes that he should do something about Chris and Johnny. He tells Chris the correct bus time.
- January 14, 2002DocumentMrs. Smith humiliates David when she yells at him in class. David is very angry and wants revenge, but Miss Kerr suggests that David take a different approach. David decides to calmly discuss the issue with Mrs. Smith, who appreciates his maturity.
