- developing research content, both in terms of surveys/assessments and reporting of survey results, and
- utilizing technology to automate and advance the use of data analytics for ECI thought leadership research and Advisory Services (fee-for-service) client engagements.
This position works closely with senior leadership and other team members to identify research strategies, trends, and opportunities within the research and Advisory Services functions. The Senior Survey Researcher has a strong background in research methodologies and processes, advanced data analysis, and data visualization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Determine the appropriate research protocols for client-based survey assessments, including, but not limited to, assessing suitable methods to collect quantitative and qualitative data.
- Design surveys/assessments to address client research questions and business needs.
- Develop, program and administer employee surveys using commercially available software programs.
- Test surveys to ensure accuracy of survey metrics, content and logic.
- Collect, validate and clean large volumes of structured and unstructured data using
advanced statistical analysis software and text analysis software (e.g., SPSS). - Effectively execute and communicate complex analysis and insights for various
stakeholders. - Lead the development of client deliverable content that meets and/or exceeds customer expectations.
- Collaborate closely with clients and team members to anticipate and formulate solutions for client and business needs.
- Develop statistical models and/or tests to analyze data.
- Automate the production of analysis, reporting and client deliverables through data portals, dashboards and other tools.
- Increase efficiencies by building scalable and extensible solutions for data analysis projects.
- Develop reporting solutions/templates that meet client and business needs.
- Deliver data-driven insights, producing timely and actionable information to help
drive business results. - Effectively communicate survey results to clients, members, and other stakeholders.
- Utilize storytelling and data visualizations to summarize and/or explain research findings.
- Develop recommendations for process and business improvements.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to devise, build, and implement or integrate
solutions that advance organizational strategies. - Collaborate with team members to develop proposals in response to RFPs and other requests to plan and propose client work.
- Embrace a service mindset towards internal and external clients, members, and other stakeholders.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities, although there is an expectation of ad-hoc supervision on a project-specific basis.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in psychology, statistics, applied mathematics, economics or related field or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of seven years of professional work experience in social science research and analysis.
- Tested experience in administering, programming, and deploying surveys through online, paper and hybridized methods, using Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, and other survey software tools.
- Experience with manipulation of large-scale data sets, analytic tools and shortcuts
through syntax and programming. - Advanced proficiency in SPSS or similar statistical software package, including SAS,
STATA, or R. - Understanding of factor analysis, regression, weighting adjustment techniques, decision trees, segmentation and other intelligent decision models.
- Knowledge of interactive data visualization software and platforms, big data, predictive analytics, etc.
- Strong understanding of sampling methodologies.
- Advanced expertise in interpreting and reporting research results.
- Strong attention to detail, especially related to quality control of own work and the work of others.
- Strong analytical, communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, agile, deadline-driven delivery environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) and online survey software (e.g., Qualtrics, Confirmit).
- Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
- Experience with data dashboard platforms such as Dapresy and Tableau is a plus.
- Experience with membership associations, professional societies and trade associations is a plus.
