Position Overview

As a key member of the Capital Markets Compliance Team, the primary responsibility of the Trading Risk Manager will be to assess trading risk and design and oversee implementation of a risk-based trade surveillance program. Responsibilities include developing trading risk scenarios for fixed income, derivative and securitization instruments, and financing transactions, assessing new instruments and markets for compliance risk, and designing and overseeing implementation of trade surveillance program. Role conducts and oversees market surveillance in support of the trade surveillance and assessment program and the information barrier program.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assessing current investment, trading, risk management strategies and liquidity management activities for compliance risk, including change management for internal and external changes
  • Developing trading risk scenarios to support risk assessments and design of trade surveillance
  • Developing quantitative framework for evaluating compliance trading risk to support a risk-based surveillance program
  • Monitoring market factors impacting trade and portfolio risk management strategies to maintain oversight program relevance


  • Minimum of 8 years of experience with knowledge of securitization and fixed income capital markets
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Exceptional quantitative, analytic and organization skills
  • Effective working independently as well as in a team (including cross-functional teams and in a changing environment)
  • Knowledge of the capital markets, trading instruments (including mortgage-backed securities, fixed income and derivatives) and mortgage finance
  • Experience interacting with executive level personnel, frequently coordinating across organizational lines

Preferred Skills

  • MBA, other graduate degree or advanced studies
  • Knowledge of mortgage industry
  • Knowledge of securities laws
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
