    Caroline Comport is the founder of Narrative Quest, a boutique leadership development company that draws on principles from the fields of High Performance, Positive Psychology, and Appreciative Inquiry to create transformational coaching programs and workshops.
    Caroline’s work is also informed by her love of story—a passion that fueled her journey from editor in chief of her high school newspaper to an Emmy-award winning television news producer. Her 20+ years in the news business included working with the talented team of The KTLA Morning News, a show that made Los Angeles television history as the highest-rated local morning program—ever.
    Caroline traded those 1 a.m. wake-up calls and her parking spot under the shadow of the Hollywood sign for a sunrise start and daily commute past the White House to become the executive producer for Tribune Broadcasting’s Washington D.C. News Bureau. In addition to launching several nationally syndicated news programs dedicated to health and business issues, Caroline served as the editorial liaison to Tribune’s 23 TV stations, a role that required her to predict what national news story would most likely capture local news producers attention and end up in their morning rundowns.
    Her career trajectory changed course after a door opened to teach an experiential journalism course for American University’s Washington Semester Program. Students in her class met face to face with such luminaries as Bob Schieffer, former moderator of Face The Nation, and Helen Thomas, an American reporter who covered the White House during the administrations of ten U.S. presidents. Soon after, an international non-profit asked Caroline to lend her editorial and mentorship instincts to their mission of training journalists around the world.
    That mission took flight in 2011 when Caroline guided the design and launch of a program dedicated to training journalists in the principles of coaching and leadership. During the five years Caroline managed the program, 61 journalists from more than 30 countries experienced the transformational workshop led by The Poynter Institute’s resident leadership expert Jill Geisler.
    Those magical weeks at Poynter, Caroline’s travels to more than 40 countries, and her own exploration of narratives led to another awakening—the transcendent power of story. Caroline soon began to understand that, whether based on fact or fiction, the stories we believe about ourselves and others profoundly impact how we engage with the world. Her own story includes several plot twists including the discovery that the opening scene of Charles Dickens novel Great Expectations was inspired by the graves of 13 Comport family infants buried in the churchyard of St. James on England’s Hoo Peninsula. Seven of those precious souls are the brothers and sisters of Caroline’s great-great grandfather, Thomas Comport.
    In addition to being a genealogy sleuth, Caroline is a lifelong learner, earning both a Bachelor’s in Journalism from California State University, Northridge and a Master’s in Liberal Studies from Georgetown University. She is an active High Performance Coach personally trained by Brendon Burchard, founder of the High Performance Institute. Caroline is currently pursuing her certification in Appreciative Inquiry Facilitation at the Flourishing Leadership Institute.
    In 2016, Caroline founded Narrative Quest Leadership Coaching to help organizations and individuals craft their own success stories.

    Matt earned a M.A. in Film & Video from American University where his thesis film The Bronze Door was screened at several film festivals and garnered numerous awards. He began freelancing as Producer/Motion Designer in 2007 for the United States Postal Service which eventually led him to a full-time position as a Senior Production Specialist at the American College of Cardiology.
    Throughout, Matt continued his freelance business and in 2015, created Origin Story. His work has earned multiple CINE Golden Eagles, Tellys, and TIVA-DC Peer Awards.
