Allina Health, based in Minneapolis, MN, seeks a dynamic, distinguished executive to serve as its next Chief Compliance Officer (CCO). The CCO will provide overall direction of the Allina Health Compliance and Privacy Program in support of the mission and strategic goals of Allina Health. This position will report directly to Penny Wheeler, M.D., President and CEO, Allina Health and the Board of Directors. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing integrated healthcare delivery system and work closely with senior leadership in realizing its overall goals and objectives.
This executive position is a mission-critical role dedicated to the continued integration of a coordinated compliance program serving the needs of a growing organization committed to Whole Person Care. The new CCO will continue to develop and oversee an enterprise-wide compliance program to support Allina Health collectively as an organization and includes responsibility for overall compliance, privacy and audit.

As a member of the Executive Leadership team, the CCO will establish him/herself as a visible, approachable individual who is a transparent, proactive and a highly effective communicator. The CCO will serve as a strategic business partner dedicated to managing and reducing potential risk and exposure to the external regulatory environment. The CCO will play a critical role in proactively developing and optimizing relationships throughout the Organization, continuing to maintain a culture that actively seeks compliance input to further optimize Allina Health’s day-to-day operations. This executive position serves as a role model for ethical management behavior and promotes an awareness and understanding of positive ethical principles and compliance with federal and state law in all areas of this growing regional health system.
The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree, while a Master’s Degree, Law Degree, certification in healthcare compliance (CHC, CHC-F, CHRC and/or CCEP), or other advanced degree is preferred. In addition, candidates must have an outstanding record of achievement with at least ten years of experience in healthcare and knowledge of all elements of corporate compliance in relationship to healthcare delivery, including strategy, business planning, operations and finance. Prior leadership experience, ideally at the executive level in a complex integrated healthcare delivery system or physician-centric organization is strongly desired. The successful candidate will also be a transparent and collaborative leader comfortable spearheading and supporting change, rather than identifying fault, in a complex environment.
