The 10th recipient of the ECI Carol R. Marshall Award for Innovation in Corporate Ethics is Blair C. Marks, Vice President of Ethics and Business Conduct for Lockheed Martin. Established in 2010 to recognize role models in ethics and compliance (E&C), the Carol Marshall Award is designed to recognize leaders who exhibit outstanding innovation and collaboration. Marks was presented with the award by ECI CEO Pat Harned, Ph.D., alongside Lockheed Martin leadership and Marks’ colleagues and peers.
Since 2010, ECI has solicited nominations for an E&C leader who demonstrates (or has demonstrated) innovation in:
- Establishing an ethics and compliance program;
- Building on an existing program; and/or
- Advancing the ethics and compliance field.
“Blair stood out among the nominees this year,” said Dr. Harned. “For the first time in the history of the award, an entire ethics & compliance leadership team nominated their supervisor because of her creativity, dedication, and concern for others.”
The award honors the late Carol R. Marshall, a former Fellows Program chair and member of the ERC board of directors. Marshall was known for her leadership and her innovative approach to implementing E&C programs, as well as the hours of dedicated service she gave to nonprofit organizations in the industry. The recipient is selected by an independent committee of practitioners who represent the ethics and compliance industry.
The annual call for nomination for the Carol Marshall Award is issued in February each year.
