The Ethics & Compliance Initiative’s (ECI) IMPACT 2021 is a 3-day virtual conference that showcases high-level experts, forward-thinking practitioners, the latest industry benchmarks and best practices for leading high-quality Ethics & Compliance (E&C) programs. IMPACT is attended by all levels of E&C practitioners, including CECOs, Chief Compliance Officers, compliance practitioners, ethics leaders and anyone who holds a vested interest in the continued success in E&C in their organization.

Each year, the IMPACT conference highlights benchmarks from ECI's High-Quality Program (HQP) Assessment Tool. This tool, included as a benefit with IMPACT registration, provides practitioners with a systematic way to demonstrate program success, define areas that may need improvement and provide evidence of continued program advancement.

Throughout the conference, benchmarking sessions take a laser-focused approach to dissecting what each one of the five Assessment measurement principles means in practice and provides a look at some of the strategies are being used to improve or sustain success in each principle area. By attending IMPACT, you will come away with tangible strategies that you can embed into your programs to promote real change, based on the industry's leading research. This unique approach is what makes IMPAC the Ultimate E&C Benchmarking Event.

IMPACT also seeks out industry experts and other high-level keynote speakers that deliver thought-provoking presentations on topics that affect your work as an E&C practitioner. Previous IMPACT speakers have included Anita Hill, Chair of the Hollywood Commission; Brian Benczkowski, Former U.S. AAG for the Criminal Division; Jan Swartz, President of Princess Cruises and many, many more!

In closely looking at conference attendee feedback from past events, it's clear that practitioners and attendees find networking and peer-to-peer discussion to be a major benefit to attending industry events - something that is not often easily recreated in the virtual space. ECI has taken extreme care in ensuring that our virtual platform provides plenty of peer-to-peer networking opportunities, including the ability to meet with one or more of your colleagues face-to-face with the click of a button. It's the next best thing to pulling up a chair next to them in a conference hall!

Presentation Protocol

Individuals and groups are encouraged to submit a presentation proposal with a theme of Navigating the Future Together by January 29 for IMPACT 2021, which will be held as a virtual conference, April 20 – 22, 2021.

Presentation proposals should address topics that demonstrate one or more of the five HQP principles:

  • Strategy: Ethics & Compliance is central to business strategy.
  • Risk: Ethics and Compliance risks are identified, owned, managed and mitigated.
  • Culture: Leaders at all levels across the organization build and sustain a culture of integrity.
  • Speak Up (Reporting): The organization encourages, values, and protects the reporting of concerns and suspected wrongdoing.
  • Accountability: The organization takes action and holds itself accountable when wrongdoing occurs.

In addition, we will accept proposals for topics that may not be directly related to the five principles but are considered relevant to our practice and of potential interest to E&C professionals (eg. stress management/wellness, team management, approaches to project management, conflict management, negotiations or other topics). These topics should be categorized as “other”.
