ABOUT THE OXLEY INSTITUTE

Mike G. Oxley was a member of congress from the state of Ohio.  He was reelected twelve times and among his great service to our nation he chaired the Committee on Financial Service.  During this service, along with Senator Paul Grassley authored the Sarbanes-Oxley Act paving the way for improved financial accountability and transparency by Corporate America.

Mike was also the former Chairman of our Board at ECI.

By establishing the Oxley Institute at ECI, we have created a lasting and evolving tribute to Mike’s legacy.   The Oxley Institute expands the reach of ECI’s mission by dramatically improve the way Corporate America can self-regulate its work in ethics & compliance.  The effort includes our ongoing work on our framework for high quality ethics & compliance programs (HQPs) and includes assessment tools, expert direction and industry bench-marking for helping organizations understand, implement, and maintain their E&C program.

The institute also broadens the impact of the ECI’s mandate advise and inform the enforcement community, develop and provide programming for senior executives and boards of directors, and to continue our program assessment research to help organizations thoughtfully evaluate the quality of their current E&C efforts.

The Oxley Institute will be housed within the Ethics Research Center (ERC), a 501 c (3) organization.
