This report is the final of four installments in our 2019 Global Business Ethics Survey (GBES) series.

For the last GBES® report of the decade, ECI expanded upon its existing research into organizational culture through several new lines of inquiry. This report reinforces the critical role that supervisors play in influencing employee behavior within organizations.

When compared to employees who worked for supervisors with weak leadership skills, employees working for supervisors with strong leadership skills were more likely to demonstrate trust in the reporting and accountability systems within their workplace and less likely to say that publicly reprimanding employees and gender discrimination were acceptable behaviors.

In this report, you’ll find:

  • How supervisor feedback correlates with professional growth and development;
  • Supervisor influence on reporting and accountability behaviors;
  • The likelihood that employees trust the reporting process in their organizations; and more.
